The theme at Hart Magnet Elementary School is science and technology. All academic subjects are integrated into science themes. Fundamental to the program is a strong commitment to the basics in reading, writing and mathematics and to enrichment through a wide range of mini-courses. The mini-courses rely heavily on technology and allow children to use the discovery approach to learning.

Hart has students from 16 different countries of origin, speaking 9 different languages.

Students from countries like Bangladesh, Peru, Colombia, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Haiti, Poland, Ukraine, Egypt, Brazil, India, Jamaica and China make Hart an extremely diverse school with a great learning environment.
