Testing and Assessment
Federal and State mandated Standardized Tests in the Stamford Public Schools are designed to answer several important questions:
- How is my child doing?
- Are the schools succeeding?
- What strategies/programs work best to help students learn?
Test results are shared with staff to guide instruction. Test results are also used to place students in programs such as honors classes in the middle and high schools, summer school, gifted and talented offerings and English language classes.
