The Stamford PDAC
The Stamford Public Schools Professional Development Advisory Council (PDAC), representing staff from each school and the Central Office, convenes monthly to identify salient features of Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) and to collect baseline information on their schools, relative to PLCs, while developing a common vocabulary. The PDAC is charged with setting the standards for Professional Learning Communities in the Stamford Public School District. The essential questions driving this work include: - What do we want our students to know and be able to do? (This will be based on CT State Standards)
- How will we know if and when students learn what we are teaching?
- How will we respond when they do not learn what we are teaching?
- How will we meet the needs of those who already know?
Research, conversations and learning are taking place on all levels and we invite you to join us in this journey to change our focus from teaching to learning. We welcome questions about, and interest in, our work. |
